Who We Are
Nature of Trade is an independent commodity market analyst. With emphasis on independent. We do not trade or have any stake in commodity markets ourselves – what we write is what we see watching from the sidelines.
We are nerds who love going through trade flow statistics, crop yield data and price charts on our quest to understand how global trade actually works.
While we may be independent, we are not unbiased. The team is located in Central Europe and thus our focus is governed by the thinking, culture and industries of this region.
What We Do
We look at every commodity. Some of them because they are important, some of them because we consider them exotic and intriguing and some because they are in the news and current talking points.
Our articles are 40% market research, 40% journalism and 10% science. The latter may be just superficial popular science, but based on our experience that’s the secret sauce to reach our goal – that is to induce “Eureka” moments in our readers.
